1 Nebuchadnezzar the king, unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you.
Nebuchadnezzar was a type of the antichrist, but not all the time.
Unlike Satan, who exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped, Nebuchadnezzar will in this chapter exalt the One TRUE God, the King of heaven: God the Father. ‘Those that walk in pride He is able to abase’ as you can see in the last verse of this chapter and pride within himself is the reason Satan fell in the first world age, receiving the death sentence, which is why he is called the son of perdition as well as the beast that shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition which is when he will be cast into the lake of fire after the thousand years are finished along with all who choose to follow him (again) at that time.
2 I thought it good to shew the signs and wonders that the high God hath wrought toward me.
3 How great are his signs! and how mighty are his wonders! his kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion is from generation to generation.
This is something Satan would never say.
We have to use discernment in order to determine when Nebuchadnezzar is a type of the antichrist and when he is not.
This chapter is about to look back to when Nebuchadnezzar was not only a type of the antichrist but also a type of what will happen to Satan after his role of the false prophet (the antichrist) is destroyed at the seventh trumpet when he gets locked up in the bottomless pit until the thousand years are finished.
4 I Nebuchadnezzar was at rest in mine house, and flourishing in my palace:
5 I saw a dream which made me afraid, and the thoughts upon my bed and the visions of my head troubled me.
This was after the dream written of in Daniel 2 and what this dream symbolizes in the futurist sense goes beyond where Daniel 2 ended on up into the thousand years.
6 Therefore made I a decree to bring in all the wise men of Babylon before me, that they might make known unto me the interpretation of the dream.
7 Then came in the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers: and I told the dream before them; but they did not make known unto me the interpretation thereof.
8 But at the last Daniel came in before me, whose name was Belteshazzar, according to the name of my God, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods: (in all reality THE Holy God: singular, not plural) and before him I told the dream, saying,
9 O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in thee, and no secret troubleth thee, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and the interpretation thereof.
10 Thus were the visions of mine head in my bed; I saw, and behold a tree in the midst of the earth, and the height thereof was great.
11 The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth:
Again, Nebuchadnezzar was a type of the antichrist and Satan is the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
During 666, the televised image of Satan as the antichrist will be transmitted throughout the globe.
This is the image of the beast written of in the book of Revelation.
12 The leaves thereof were fair, (concealing his true identity from most of the world during 666) and the fruit thereof much,
For every positive, there is a negative.
The fruit of the tree of life is the fruit we are to produce as Christians.
We are expected to plant seeds of Truth every chance we get, whereby (if God causes that seed to grow) whosoever will can be grafted into God’s family tree also, which is the many-membered body of the TRUE Christ.
Here we see the opposite: the fruit of the tree of death.
When someone is deceived into worshipping Satan instead of Christ (which is what ‘antichrist’ means) they are grafted into Satan’s family tree and are then dead spiritually speaking.
and in it was meat for all:
The global communism of Satan’s one world system as well as his deceitful meat which is the opposite of the Truth of God’s Word.
the beasts of the field had shadow under it, and the fowls of the heaven dwelt in the boughs thereof,
The one world system made up of the beasts you can read of in Daniel 7: the lion, the bear and the leopard with Daniel’s exclusively supernatural fourth beast being made up of Satan and his fallen angel locust army (including the ten fallen angel kings) which are symbolized here by ‘the fowls of heaven.’
and all flesh was fed of it. (except for those of the Zadok who refused to have anything to do with Satan or his one world system and after they are delivered up and the Holy Spirit speaks through them many will come out of the confusion, (which is what Babylon means) repenting and then being grafted back into God’s family tree.
They will then be eligible to take part in the first resurrection when the TRUE Christ (the tree of life) returns at the seventh trumpet.
13 I saw in the visions of my head upon my bed, and, behold, a watcher and an holy one came down from heaven;
‘Watcher’ being a Chaldee name for an angelic being. In the futurist sense, this is the same angel we see in Revelation 20:1-3.
14 He cried aloud, and said thus, Hew down the tree, and cut off his branches, shake off his leaves, and scatter his fruit: let the beasts get away from under it (the lion, the bear and the leopard having their dominion taken away at that time as you can see in Daniel 7:12) and the fowls from his branches: (Satan’s angels being destroyed at the seventh trumpet as you can see in Revelation 11:13 where those seven thousand (names of) men are killed in the earthquake.)
15 Nevertheless leave the stump of his roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth:
This is a statement of degradation just as we see in Isaiah 14 where Satan is called the king of Babylon there as well.
You can also read in Isaiah 14 about his incarceration in the bottomless pit when the TRUE Christ returns and Babylon falls.
At that time, a seal will be set upon him that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled which is what the ‘band of iron and brass’ is symbolic of in the ultimate futurist sense.
16 Let his heart be changed from man’s, and let a beast’s heart be given unto him; and let seven times pass over him.
Ultimately, this means until the end of the thousand years when Satan ascends out of the bottomless pit goes into perdition which means he will be blotted out of existence in the lake of fire along with whoever chooses to follow him (again) at that time.
17 This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living (all who are on the earth when the seventh trumpet sounds) may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.
18 This dream I king Nebuchadnezzar have seen. Now thou, O Belteshazzar, declare the interpretation thereof, forasmuch as all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known unto me the interpretation: but thou art able; for the spirit of the holy gods (THE Holy God: singular, not plural) is in thee.
19 Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was astonied for one hour, and his thoughts troubled him. (‘one hour’ because this has to do with the hour of temptation which is immediately followed by the thousand years that begin at the seventh trumpet) The king spake, and said, Belteshazzar, let not the dream, or the interpretation thereof, trouble thee. Belteshazzar answered and said, My lord, the dream be to them that hate thee, and the interpretation thereof to thine enemies.
20 The tree that thou sawest, which grew, and was strong, whose height reached unto the heaven, and the sight thereof to all the earth;
Because of the televised image of Satan as the antichrist transmitted throughout the world.
21 Whose leaves were fair, (his true identity being concealed from most of the world when he appears as the false christ) and the fruit thereof much, (the opposite of the fruit of the tree of life) and in it was meat for all; (the deceitful meat written of in Proverbs 23 which is the opposite of the Truth of God’s Word) under which the beasts of the field dwelt, and upon whose branches the fowls of the heaven had their habitation:
‘The beasts’ that make up his one world system and ‘the fowls’ you also see used to symbolize the wicked one in Matthew 13 in the parable of the sower.
‘Fowls’, plural, because Satan and his angels are cast to earth at the woe of the fifth trumpet which is when the one world political system comes into being which then receives the deadly wound after which Satan appears as the antichrist beginning the fourth and final stage of his fallen angel locust army (the consumer stage) when most Christians die spiritually when they worship the false messiah and are grafted into Satan’s family tree.
22 It is thou, O king, that art grown and become strong: for thy greatness is grown, and reacheth unto heaven, and thy dominion to the end of the earth.
Because Nebuchadnezzar was a type of the antichrist.
23 And whereas the king saw a watcher and an holy one coming down from heaven, and saying, Hew the tree down, and destroy it; yet leave the stump of the roots thereof in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, (which is symbolic of the seal set upon Satan when he gets locked up in the bottomless pit after his role of the antichrist and his one world system are destroyed) in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him;
Those who are part of the lion, bear and leopard when the TRUE Christ returns are on their way to the lake of fire also unless they stand against Satan after the thousand years are finished. This is how his portion will be ‘with the beasts of the field’, only Satan was sentenced to perish all the way back in the first world age meaning he will go into the lake of fire regardless.
Those who did not take part in ‘the first resurrection’ can stand against Satan after the thousand years are finished and take part in the second resurrection into eternal life if they so choose after Satan is released from the bottomless pit.
‘Seven times’ means the thousand years that begin at the seven trumpet.
Seven means completeness.
24 This is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of the most High, which is come upon my lord the king:
25 That they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet thee with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.
26 And whereas they commanded to leave the stump of the tree roots; thy kingdom shall be sure unto thee, after that thou shalt have known that the heavens do rule.
This is the meaning historically (as it pertained to Nebuchadnezzar) as opposed to what this means in the ultimate futurist sense and what happens to Satan once the false prophet and the beast (his role of antichrist and his one world system) are destroyed when the Babylon of the end times falls when the TRUE Christ returns at the seventh trumpet.
27 Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine iniquities by shewing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of thy tranquillity.
28 All this came upon the king Nebuchadnezzar.
29 At the end of twelve months he walked in the palace of the kingdom of Babylon.
30 The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?
Notice the pride within Nebuchadnezzar. This looks forward to what happens to the king over all the children of pride as Satan is called in the last verse of Job 41.
31 While the word was in the king’s mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee.
32 And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.
But in the futurist sense, what happens to Satan on the first day of the millennium is to let everyone else know that the TRUE Christ has returned as King of kings and Lord of lords. As God says many times in the book of Ezekiel they will then know that HE is the Lord, not Satan or anybody else.
33 The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles’ feathers, and his nails like birds’ claws.
A type of the degradation of being cast into the bottomless pit that you can read of in Isaiah 14.
Again, We have to use discernment in order to determine when Nebuchadnezzar is a type of the antichrist (or in the case of this chapter, a type of Satan during the thousand years in the bottomless pit) and when he is not.
Beginning in the following verse, Nebuchadnezzar ceases to be a type of either.
34 And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation:
35 And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?
36 At the same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine honour and brightness returned unto me; and my counsellors and my lords sought unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me.
37 Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.
During the thousand years (when discipline will be taught) those who followed Satan and failed to repent before the seventh angel sounded will have the opportunity to absorb the teachings of the TRUE Christ whereby they can stand against the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit at the end of the thousand years and go into the eternity which is the third world age.
If they choose not to listen and to continue to walk in pride all the way up to when they follow Satan again after the thousand years are finished (again, Satan is a king over all the children of pride as we know from the last verse of job 41) they will be blotted out in the lake of fire along with Satan himself which is what it is to go into perdition.
Everyone else goes into the eternity, having been grafted back into God’s family tree, the many member body of the TRUE Christ: the tree of life.
