1 And in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar (a type of the antichrist, who is Satan himself: the king of Babylon of the end times) Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams, wherewith his spirit was troubled, and his sleep brake from him.
2 Then the king commanded to call the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, (notice the four groups) for to shew the king his dreams. So they came and stood before the king.
3 And the king said unto them, I have dreamed a dream, and my spirit was troubled to know the dream.
4 Then spake the Chaldeans to the king in Syriack, O king, live for ever: tell thy servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation.
As you can see pointed out in the Companion Bible, this is ‘to call to our attention the fact’ that what follows is written in Aramaic ‘as far as to the end of chapter 7.’
The language switches from Hebrew to Aramaic from Daniel 2:4 all the way up to the last verse of Daniel 7 letting us know (for one thing) that the image we are going to see described within this chapter is ultimately the same as the four beasts written of in Daniel 7 which all rise up together at the same time at the woe of the fifth trumpet as the one world political system you can also read of in Revelation 13. After it receives a deadly wound it becomes a one world religious system at the woe of the 6th trumpet when Satan appears in Jerusalem as the antichrist which Nebuchadnezzar was a type of.
5 The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, The thing is gone from me: if ye will not make known unto me the dream, with the interpretation thereof, ye shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made a dunghill.
6 But if ye shew the dream, and the interpretation thereof, ye shall receive of me gifts and rewards and great honour: therefore shew me the dream, and the interpretation thereof.
7 They answered again and said, Let the king tell his servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation of it.
8 The king answered and said, I know of certainty that ye would gain the time, because ye see the thing is gone from me.
Nebuchadnezzar is claiming to have forgotten the dream.
9 But if ye will not make known unto me the dream, there is but one decree for you: for ye have prepared lying and corrupt words to speak before me, till the time be changed: therefore tell me the dream, and I shall know that ye can shew me the interpretation thereof.
10 The Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, There is not a man upon the earth that can shew the king’s matter: therefore there is no king, lord, nor ruler, that asked such things at any magician, or astrologer, or Chaldean.
11 And it is a rare thing that the king requireth, and there is none other that can shew it before the king, except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.
Had they been familiar with the God of heaven as was Daniel and his three companions they would have known that our Heavenly Father was the one to ask.
12 For this cause the king was angry and very furious, and commanded to destroy all the wise men of Babylon.
13 And the decree went forth that the wise men should be slain; and they sought Daniel and his fellows to be slain.
14 Then Daniel answered with counsel and wisdom to Arioch the captain of the king’s guard, which was gone forth to slay the wise men of Babylon:
15 He answered and said to Arioch the king’s captain, Why is the decree so hasty from the king? Then Arioch made the thing known to Daniel.
Daniel being wise enough to know exactly Who to ask.
16 Then Daniel went in, and desired of the king that he would give him time, and that he would shew the king the interpretation.
17 Then Daniel went to his house, and made the thing known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions:
Also known as Shadrach, Meshech and Abednego, a type of the Zadok who are delivered up during the hour of temptation as we’ll see in the next chapter making Daniel (who is absent in Daniel 3) a type of those of the Zadok who had lived and died throughout the centuries who return with the TRUE Christ at the woe of the seventh trumpet.
This second chapter having to do with that five month long ‘hour of temptation’ also in the ultimate futurist sense.
18 That they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.
19 Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.
Daniel asked our Heavenly Father and his prayer was answered, not only preventing the physical death of Daniel and his three companions but preventing the spiritual death of those who will be alive in the flesh during ‘the hour of temptation’ by providing the wisdom and understanding through Christ as to the meaning of the book of Daniel as well as the rest of our Father’s Word whereby they know exactly how the end transpires.
20 Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:
All wisdom and understanding comes from our Heavenly Father through His Word through the TRUE Christ.
Even Daniel (at the time) did not totally understand what he was given because Christ had yet to shed His blood upon the cross whereby He could open our understanding to the Scriptures.
Only the Lamb slain was found worthy to open the book which had the seven seals and ‘to loose the seals thereof’ as we know from Revelation 5.
21 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:
Which should remind you of Revelation 13:18, which (ultimately) looks forward to the time frame of the image about to be described in this chapter.
The beginning of Daniel’s 70th Week (which was seven years but is now five months) is when the first beast of Revelation 13 emerges (which is the same thing as the four beasts of Daniel 7) and after the first beast is wounded to death, Satan appears as the antichrist (the king of Babylon of the end times) at the sixth seal, the sixth trumpet and the sixth vial in the midst of the five month long ‘hour of temptation’.
22 He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.
23 I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the king’s matter.
Daniel along with his three companions being the positive opposite of the four we saw back in verse 2 who didn’t know anything because they worshipped basically everything but our Heavenly Father, the God of heaven.
24 Therefore Daniel went in unto Arioch, whom the king had ordained to destroy the wise men of Babylon: he went and said thus unto him; Destroy not the wise men of Babylon: bring me in before the king, and I will shew unto the king the interpretation.
25 Then Arioch brought in Daniel before the king in haste, and said thus unto him, I have found a man of the captives of Judah, that will make known unto the king the interpretation.
26 The king answered and said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, Art thou able to make known unto me the dream which I have seen, and the interpretation thereof?
27 Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, The secret which the king hath demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, shew unto the king;
Again, four negatives, as opposed to the four positives that are Daniel and his three companions.
28 But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these;
29 As for thee, O king, thy thoughts came into thy mind upon thy bed, what should come to pass hereafter: and he that revealeth secrets maketh known to thee what shall come to pass.
30 But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living, but for their sakes that shall make known the interpretation to the king, and that thou mightest know the thoughts of thy heart.
Remember the types we are about to see here were future to the time this was said (and are now past history) but the actuality has to do with the one world system (which is yet future) that doesn’t come into being until Satan and his angels are cast from heaven to earth at the woe of the 5th trumpet.
31 Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible.
32 This image’s head was of fine gold,
Which corresponds to the Lion of Daniel 7: symbolic of the Christian nations in the first half of the hour of temptation, but then at the sixth trumpet when Satan appears in Jerusalem as the antichrist (which Nebuchadnezzar was a type of) the head of gold becomes the king of Babylon of the end times: Satan in his role of ‘instead of Christ’ when the the head of gold becomes the king of Babylon of the end times: Satan in his role of ‘instead of Christ’ when the Christian nations cease to be the virgin bride and become the whore of Babylon which means confusion. The lion from that point forward is symbolic of those nations which were Christian, but then in the great apostasy were ‘plucked up by the roots’ dying spiritually at that time.
his breast and his arms of silver,
In the futurist sense, this corresponds with the bear of Daniel 7: the Ezekiel 38 confederacy headed by Edom (which means red): communistic atheism as well as the Islamic nations you can see listed in Ezekiel 38. It’s at the sixth trumpet that the three ribs which symbolize Ephraim, Judah and Manasseh (the nations who cease to be Christian when they worship Satan ‘instead of Christ’) are in the mouth of the bear ‘between the teeth of it’ having been neutralized geopolitically as well as spiritually, which is why you see those three ‘plucked up by the roots’ at the sixth seal, the sixth trumpet and the sixth vial.
his belly and his thighs of brass,
Which lines up with the leopard of Daniel 7: the infrastructure of the so-called ‘new world order’ which consists of the four hidden dynasties of education, economics, politics and religion globalized from 1830 to 1948 by the sons of Cain.
33 His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.
The first beast of Revelation 13 does not come into being until the woe of the fifth trumpet when Satan and his angels are cast from heaven to earth: Daniel’s fourth beast written of in Daniel 7 which is what the legs, feet and toes of iron correspond to.
The ‘clay’ just means this one world government is the combination of human beings and supernatural entities: the lion, the bear and the leopard which are made up of flesh men merged together in a one world system with the exclusively supernatural fourth beast of Daniel chapter 7.
Political during the woe of the 5th trumpet but then, after the deadly wound, it becomes religious when Satan appears as the antichrist at the woe of the 6th trumpet.
The TRUE Christ won’t return at all until the woe of the seventh trumpet as we are about to see in the next verse:
34 Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.
See also: Revelation 19:20-21
35 Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; (the harvest being ‘the end of the world’ when the TRUE Rock returns (as we know from Matthew 13) and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them:
In other words, Daniel’s fourth beast is destroyed when the TRUE Christ returns and those that were within the lion, the bear and the leopard will have their dominion taken away at that time (as you can see in Daniel 7:11-12) with their ‘lives’ being ‘prolonged for a season and a time’ until at least after the thousand years are finished (depending on whether or not they stand against Satan when he’s released for that little season) so the ‘time’ there is the thousand years and the ‘season’ is that ‘little season’ when Satan is released from the bottomless pit (as you can see in Revelation 20:3).
If they follow Satan again after the thousand years are finished they will be blotted out of existence in the lake of fire.
and the stone (which is the TRUE Rock which is the TRUE Christ upon his return at the seventh trumpet) that smote the image became a great mountain (which means a great kingdom when the TRUE Christ returns as King of kings and Lord of lords at the seventh trumpet) and filled the whole earth.
36 This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king.
We are about to learn even more about what this image ultimately symbolizes as we go through the historical types which were the world empires leading up to Christ’s First Advent ending with His death on the cross when the kingdom of heaven was opened to whosoever will believe upon the only begotten Son of God. That is why He was described as ‘a stone cut without hands’ back in verse 34. Christ Jesus is the only begotten of the Father.
The types we are about to see go from Babylon up to Rome ending when Christ died on the cross beginning the same gap you can read of in Daniel 9: from the end of the 69 weeks (which are really 483 years) that ended with the crucifixion when Jesus paid the price for one and all times so that whosoever will can enter into the kingdom of heaven when the veil in the temple was rent in twain opening up salvation to whosoever will believe upon Christ’s blood shed on the cross and Rome was the ruling world empire of the time that ended the type and the gap began.
The same gap you can read of in Daniel 9 and that gap will end when Daniel’s 70th Week begins (which was seven years but has been shortened to five months) called also ‘the hour of temptation’ with Satan appearing as the antichrist in the midst of the five months: Nebuchadnezzar being a type of antichrist:
37 Thou, O king, art a king of kings: (and when Satan appears as the king of Babylon of the end times he will claim to be the King of Kings) for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.
38 And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold.
39 And after thee (Babylon) shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, (Medo-Persia) and another third kingdom of brass, (Greece) which shall bear rule over all the earth.
40 And the fourth kingdom (Rome) shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.
If you compare this to Daniel 7:7 this is obviously a type of Daniel’s fourth beast which is made up entirely of Satan and his angels, including the ten fallen angel kings (seen also in Revelation 13 and 17) that reign one hour with Satan: ‘the hour of temptation’, both before and after Satan appears as the antichrist.
41 And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided;
In the type (which was Rome), the kingdom that ‘shall be divided’ as far as the types are concerned.
The clay is not a fifth kingdom.
There are only four kingdoms written of here.
The types were Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece and Rome and they correspond to the four beasts of Daniel 7 and only the fourth beast (which is exclusively supernatural) has ten horns: the ten fallen angel kings which the ten toes are symbolic of in the ultimate futurist sense.
In looking for the historical type of the ten toes within Rome you would look for them to be successive also (because the world empires listed here were successive): the Battle of Corinth in 146 BC to when Christ died on the cross ending the type and beginning the gap we also see in Daniel 9. The type of the ten kings being (in my opinion) the ten most historically relevant statesmen, generals and politicians of the Roman Republic in the years leading up to the Roman Empire with the role of Roman Emperor obviously being a type of Satan’s role of antichrist, the ‘little horn’ you can read of in Daniel 7.
The type ended at the end of Christ’s First Advent (marked by His death on the cross) beginning the gap that you can read of in Daniel 9 which ends at the woe of the fifth trumpet when the one world political system emerges having seven heads (which are the seven continents of the planet Earth) and ten horns which are the ten fallen angel kings cast to earth with Satan at the woe of the fifth trumpet along with the rest of his fallen angels who are the locust army written of in Revelation chapter 9.
but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron,
(we can also see iron written of in Revelation chapter 9:9 in the description of Satan’s fallen angel locust army who are part of Daniels fourth Beast along with those ten fallen angel kings)
forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.
42 And as the toes of the feet (the ten fallen angel kings) were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.
Because in the ultimate futurist sense, the lion, the bear and the leopard are made up of flesh men but Daniel’s fourth beast is supernatural: the only one out of the four with ten horns: symbolic of ten fallen angel kings.
In this next verse we see the meaning of the clay.
43 And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay,
it is not symbolic of another kingdom: there are only four written of here as far as the one world system of Revelation 13 is concerned.
The clay is symbolic of the fact that they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: (meaning the supernatural will mix with the humans in the one world system during the 5 month long ‘hour of temptation’) but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. Which means this one world system will not last because as we are about to see in the next verse, the TRUE Christ upon His return at the seventh trumpet will destroy the one world system this image is ultimately symbolic of.
Again, the type ended when Christ died on the cross and here we see the gap between the 69 weeks and Daniel’s 70th week in Daniel 9.
It was seven years but has been shortened (as you can see in Revelation 9) to a five month long ‘hour’ ending when the TRUE Christ returns at the seventh trumpet as you can see in verse 44
44 And in the days of these kings (meaning in days of the the four beasts of Daniel 7 which these four kingdoms symbolize) shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.
45 Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone (the TRUE Rock) was cut out of the mountain without hands, (born of a virgin because He is the only begotten Son of God) and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; (notice they are all destroyed at the same time) the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.
Satan’s angels, as well as his role of the antichrist (Daniel’s fourth beast) are destroyed at that time and so is the dominion of the leopard, the bear and the lion as you can see in Daniel 7:11-12. All flesh being done away with at that time as well as we know from 1 Corinthians 15:51-52.
Four historical world empires as types (four being the number of Earth) beginning with Babylon and ending with Rome when the TRUE Christ died on the cross beginning the gap of Daniel 9 that ends with Daniel’s 70th Week (which was seven years but is now five months) when the four beasts of Daniel 7 emerged as the one world political system at the woe of the fifth trumpet which is then ‘wounded to death’ after which Satan appears as the antichrist at the woe of the sixth trumpet: the king of Babylon of the end times which is when it becomes a one world religious system and immediately after that five month long ‘hour of temptation’ at the woe of the seventh trumpet the TRUE Christ returns Who is the TRUE Rock that destroys Satan’s one world system as well as his role of antichrist.
46 Then the king Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face, and worshipped Daniel, and commanded that they should offer an oblation and sweet odours unto him.
Here we see where Nebuchadnezzar is not a type of the antichrist as we will also see in the last three verses of the next chapter: remember Satan will exalt himself ‘above all that is called God, or that is worshipped’ so you have to discern when Nebuchadnezzar is a type of the antichrist and when he is not like in the next verse:
47 The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret.
48 Then the king made Daniel a great man, and gave him many great gifts, and made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief of the governors over all the wise men of Babylon.
49 Then Daniel requested of the king, and he set Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, over the affairs of the province of Babylon: but Daniel sat in the gate of the king.
Needless to say, Daniel is one of the seven thousand Zadok who will return with Christ who is THE King at the seventh trumpet sitting in ‘the gate’ at that time as well along with those of the Zadok who are alive and remaining up to the seventh trumpet (which Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were a type of) the gate being the place of judgment and as it’s written in Ezekiel 44:24 concerning the Zadok during the millennium ‘in controversy they shall stand in judgment’ and they shall judge it according to God’s judgments when the TRUE Christ returns at the seventh trumpet as King of kings and Lord of lords.
