1 And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint Him.
2 And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.
‘The first day of the week’ is what we would call Sunday but (as we are about to see) Jesus had already been resurrected prior to the rising of the sun as you can also document in the twentieth chapter of the Gospel of John.
Again: Jesus was crucified on what we would call Wednesday (the midst of the week) and in the futurist sense it will be in the midst of Daniel’s 70th Week at the woe of the 6th trumpet that Satan will appear as the antichrist but then 70 evenings later (which is what the 70 years in captivity to the Babylon of old were a type of) Jesus will return as King of kings and Lord of lords at the woe of the 7th trumpet, destroying Satan’s role of antichrist as well as his one world system including his fallen angels.
3 And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre?
4 And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great.
5 And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted.
6 And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: He is risen; He is not here: behold the place where they laid Him.
Jesus having already been resurrected sometime around what we would call Saturday evening, which is three days and three nights after His death on the cross.
Notice the resurrection of Jesus happened at the end of the week in which He was crucified which (in the futurist sense) looks forward to ‘the first resurrection’ at the end of Daniel’s 70th Week, (which was seven years but is now five months) when Jesus returns along with the armies which were in heaven as you can see in verses 11 through 18 of the nineteenth chapter of the book of Revelation.
7 But go your way, tell His disciples and Peter that He goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see Him, as He said unto you.
8 And they went out quickly, and fled from the sepulchre; for they trembled and were amazed: neither said they any thing to any man; for they were afraid.
9 Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week,
Which, as you can see pointed out in the Companion Bible, means ‘any time after sunset on our Saturday.’
He appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom He had cast seven devils.
10 And she went and told them that had been with Him, as they mourned and wept.
11 And they, when they had heard that He was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not.
12 After that He appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country.
13 And they went and told it unto the residue: neither believed they them.
14 Afterward He appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen Him after He was risen.
15 And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
And, as Jesus says in the 14th verse of the twenty-fourth chapter of the Gospel Matthew, “…this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”
Ultimately looking forward to when the Holy Spirit will speak through those who get delivered up during the woe of the 6th trumpet bringing many out of the confusion (which is what ‘Babylon’ means) and back into the many-membered body of the TRUE Christ.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
And always remember that God is ‘not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance’ as you can see in verse 9 of the third chapter of the Second Epistle of Peter.
This is why it is so important that we as Christians make ourselves available to be utilized by our heavenly Father to plant seeds of truth so that when He chooses to cause those seeds to grow within the minds they were planted within, they can then be drawn back into His family tree all were part of the first world age when they choose to believe upon the Lord Jesus Christ.
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe;
In my name shall they cast out devils;
Meaning those who believe are able to cast out evil spirits in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ as we saw the disciples doing when Jesus sent them out ‘two by two’ back in the sixth chapter of this Gospel of Mark.
they shall speak with new tongues;
Meaning that some will be given the gift of being able to learn and then speak in foreign languages in order to distribute God’s Word to every creature, also looking forward ultimately to those the Holy Spirit will speak through (in a language understood by whoever hears it) during the latter half of ‘the hour of temptation’ causing many to repent whereby they can take part in ‘the first resurrection’ at the 7th trumpet when the TRUE Christ returns.
18 They shall take up serpents;
Not literally serpents but rather Satan’s evil spirits as you can see in verse 19 of the tenth chapter of the Gospel of Luke.
and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them;
This is another metaphor meaning (for those who remain part of God’s family tree throughout the entirety of the five month long ‘hour of temptation’) that Satan’s deception will not cause them to die spiritually at 666.
they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
This can even mean those sick with the plagues of deception written of in Revelation 16 who will recover upon hearing the truth of God’s Word.
19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, He was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
This was ten days before Pentecost (as we know from the first chapter of the book of Acts) during which Christ opened the seven seals, making known to those with eyes to see and ears to hear the chronological order of events that will lead up to His return at the 7th trumpet when ‘the first resurrection’ occurs and the thousand year long ‘great tribulation’ begins during which those who choose to absorb the discipline Christ will teach through the millennial priesthood can stand against Satan after the thousand years are finished, and then take part in the second resurrection being then able to go into the third world age: the eternity.
20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
