1 And He said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.
Meaning Peter, James and John who were about to be taken to the Mount of Transfiguration for a glimpse of what happens at the 7th trumpet, just after the two witnesses are resurrected and the TRUE Christ returns.
2 And after six days Jesus taketh with Him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and He was transfigured before them.
This being ‘after six days’ you could even see as looking forward to what happens after the woe of the 6th trumpet ends and the seventh angel sounds.
3 And His raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them.
4 And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus.
This being one of the main reasons why Moses and Elijah are believed to be the two witnesses of Revelation 11 and (with the time of their prophesying being shortened from 1,260 days to 75 days) they will most likely begin their prophesying 8.5 days before the woe of the 6th trumpet, which is when Satan appears as the antichrist in Jerusalem.
5 And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for Thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
6 For he wist not what to say; for they were sore afraid.
7 And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a Voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is My beloved Son: hear Him.
8 And suddenly, when they had looked round about, they saw no man any more, save Jesus only with themselves.
9 And as they came down from the mountain, He charged them that they should tell no man what things they had seen, till the Son of man were risen from the dead.
10 And they kept that saying with themselves, questioning one with another what the rising from the dead should mean.
Christ’s resurrection three days and three nights after His death on the cross even looks forward (in the futurist sense) to what will happen 3.5 days after Satan kills the two witnesses: the TRUE Christ will return to earth at the seventh trumpet which is when the first resurrection occurs when all who are in Christ Jesus will resurrect into eternal life.
11 And they asked Him, saying, Why say the scribes that Elias must first come?
Malachi 4 is where you can read of the prophecy concerning Elijah being sent back to earth ‘before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD’ which begins when the seventh angel sounds.
12 And He answered and told them, Elias verily cometh first, and restoreth all things; and how it is written of the Son of man, that He must suffer many things, and be set at nought.
13 But I say unto you, That Elias is indeed come, and they have done unto him whatsoever they listed, as it is written of him.
As Jesus said in Matthew 11:14 concerning John the Baptist, “if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come.” meaning if John the Baptist and his preaching that Jesus is the Christ would have been accepted, then he would have been the fulfilment of the prophecy concerning Elijah, even though he was not actually Elijah.
John the Baptist (who went forth in the spirit and power of Elijah) having been beheaded, shortly after which Christ was rejected and crucified, Elijah himself will now be sent back to earth as (most likely) one of the two witnesses (along with Moses) 8.5 days before the midst of Daniel’s 70th Week, which was seven years but is now five months.
The two witnesses are ‘the two olive trees’ for the first 8.5 days of their prophesying and then at 666 they will become ‘the two candlesticks’ which, when added to the candlestick written of in Revelation 4:5 which is symbolic of those of the Zadok who will return with Christ at the 7th trumpet, and then when the seven candlesticks which are symbolic of the seven churches written of in Revelation 1-3 are added that makes ten candlesticks, just as there were in the temple burned by the king of Babylon of old: a type of antichrist.
14 And when He came to his disciples, he saw a great multitude about them, and the scribes questioning with them.
15 And straightway all the people, when they beheld Him, were greatly amazed, and running to Him saluted him.
16 And He asked the scribes, What question ye with them?
17 And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto Thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit;
18 And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to Thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not.
In Matthew 17:15 this man also says his son is lunatick, which better brings into focus what particular ‘kind’ of spirit this is.
Satan’s children, the Kenites (who claim to be of Judah but do lie) use a lunar as opposed to a solar calendar which is symbolic of the fact that they are the children of darkness and not the children of light.
19 He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto Me.
20 And they brought him unto Him: and when He saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming.
21 And He asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child.
22 And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if Thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us.
23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.
25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, He rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.
26 And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, he is dead.
27 But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose.
28 And when He was come into the house, His disciples asked Him privately, Why could not we cast him out?
29 And He said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.
The prayer here being confessing with your mouth the Lord Jesus while believing in your heart God raised Him from the dead and fasting from unbelief.
This word translated as ‘kind’ is #1095 in the Greek Dictionary of the Strong’s Concordance and it means “kin” as in ‘kind(-red), nation, offspring,’
This same event is recorded in Matthew 17:20, where Jesus responds to the question the disciples ask (why they could not cast the spirit out) with “Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.”
This “mountain” being (in this case) symbolic of the Kenite nation which this child was a part of but through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ ALL things are possible: even Satan’s own children being converted from tares into wheat by believing upon the only begotten Son of God.
30 And they departed thence, and passed through Galilee; and he would not that any man should know it.
31 For He taught His disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill Him; and after that He is killed, He shall rise the third day.
This term “the third day” means the same thing as after three days and three nights as you can see explained in Appendix 148 of the Companion Bible.
32 But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask Him.
33 And He came to Capernaum: and being in the house He asked them, What was it that ye disputed among yourselves by the way?
34 But they held their peace: for by the way they had disputed among themselves, who should be the greatest.
35 And He sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.
36 And He took a child, and set him in the midst of them: and when He had taken him in His arms, He said unto them,
37 Whosoever shall receive one of such children in My name, receiveth Me: and whosoever shall receive Me, receiveth not Me, but Him that sent Me.
38 And John answered Him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in Thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us.
39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in My name, that can lightly speak evil of Me.
40 For he that is not against us is on our part.
Because all are one in Christ Jesus and part of His many-membered body.
41 For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in My name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.
42 And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in Me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.
This word translated as “offend” can even mean ‘to entice’ to ‘apostasy’ as many Christians will inadvertently do to themselves and one another by spreading the deception that sets them up for the spiritual kill at 666, causing them to cease being citizens of the heavenly Jerusalem and becoming citizens of the Babylon of the end times that will come into being when Satan appears as the antichrist.
43 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
What Jesus is saying here has to do with His many-membered body and what to do if one of our brothers or sisters ceases to abide in the doctrine of Christ Jesus, becoming a non-Christian.
To allow non-Christians to operate within the church would be running the risk of deception being spread like a disease throughout the body which may even cause the entire group to be deceived to the point of being killed spiritually.
Most Christians will be killed spiritually at 666 anyway but you definitely do NOT want to be held accountable for assisting them in being deceived.
The “hand” here is symbolic of one who is supposed to be doing the work of furthering God’s Word by any means available, but if they become a non-Christian they will begin to only do the work of furthering Satan’s deception which is even the ‘in their right hand’ part of the mark of the beast most Christians will receive ‘in their forehead’ when they begin to worship Satan instead of Christ
44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
This is a figure of speech meaning those cast into the lake of fire will cease to exist when both their soul and (spiritual) body are destroyed. If a worm “dieth not” that means it keeps eating until there is nothing left just as the fire burns them into nothingness, blotting them out of existence forever and ever: this why it is called the second death.
Many will repent during the latter half of the five month long hour of temptation and many will receive Christ’s teachings of discipline during the thousand years but some will choose to follow Satan again (after the thousand years are finished) and will be cast into the lake of fire at that time.
45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
Again, these are not literal body parts but rather members of the church who have ceased to be Christians. The only way for this to happen would be for someone to either outright cease to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ altogether or to be deceived into worshipping someone other than the TRUE Christ.
Again, most Christians will worship Satan instead of Christ (which is what ‘antichrist’ means) and this is the time those with the seal of God in their forehead must part ways with those who used to be Christians until they repent, as many will because of what the Holy Spirit will say through those who get delivered up during that time.
For obvious reasons, those who get grafted back into God’s family tree during that time will want to keep their distance from those who were Christians but then at 666 began worshipping Satan instead of Jesus.
The “foot” here is symbolic of those who are supposed to go out into the world to spread the truth of God’s Word (in the 21st century mainly via the internet) but when a Christian ceases to be a Christian they will begin to spread only Satan’s deception instead.
47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:
The “eye” here would be a person expected to serve as a watchman for the rest of Christianity so you would definitely not want to have to count on a non-Christian to explain the warnings written of throughout the Word of God: especially the warnings about Satan appearing as the antichrist at 666.
48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
Three times for emphasis and (as mentioned back in chapter 8) Peter denying Christ three times is symbolic of when most Christians (symbolized by the three horns plucked up by the roots in Daniel 7:8) will deny the TRUE Christ when they worship Satan when he appears in Jerusalem and if they fail to repent and take part in the first resurrection when the TRUE Christ returns, they will have to wait until the thousand years are finished to decide whether to stand against Satan at that time and take part in the second resurrection (having absorbed the discipline Christ will teach through the millennial priesthood) or to follow Satan again and get cast into the lake of fire.
49 For every one shall be salted with fire,
Inasmuch as our God is a consuming fire, His presence is what refines us, melting away the dross and purifying those who love God the Father, the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit who will take part in either the first or the second resurrection.
This is why the lake of fire destroys those who hate God…when tried by fire there is nothing within them fit to survive.
and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.
Once Christ paid the price on the cross, the blood sacrifices of the Old Covenant became the “sacrifices” of time and energy by those of us who have entered in to the New Covenant planting seeds of truth and spreading God’s Word as opposed to wasting our time and energy on the cares of this world.
50 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it?
To place this “salt” in yourself, stay in the Word whereby you remain in tune with our heavenly Father and can be used by Him to draw His other children back to Him. The Word of God being what seasons your mind and vocabulary so that seeds of truth can be planted through you on a constant basis.
Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.
Christ Jesus being the Prince of peace and the only way anyone is ever going to have any peace of mind is by believing upon the only begotten Son of God: the Living Word.
